At the Hoboken Intl Film Festival SHOOTING JOHNSON ROEBLING was nominated for "Best of the Festival" award and won Best Featured Actress for Canan Erguder. The indie was also screened at the Red Bank Intl. Film Festival where it was nominated for their “Jersey Fresh” award.
The commercial that Gary shot for Union Memorial Hospital can be seen in the DC/MD/VA area and on the hospital’s website.
Gary appeared, as himself, on Discovery Channel’s trivia game show CASH CAB in May. Riding around in a NYC taxi cab answering trivia questions for cash. He and friend Alisha McKinney… won.

"The Accidental Husband"with Uma Thurman, Colin Firth, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Sam Shepard, Isabella Rossellini (and Gary) will open nation-wide on March 7, 2008.
Gary shot two short films for a new website dedicated to ordinal comic content. This crazy-funny interactive site hopes to be the YouTube of high-end short comedies. Stay tuned.

Gary and the “Tuesday Group” theatre ensemble were invited back to the 2nd Annual Provincetown Tennessee Williams Festival. John Guare, Amiri Baraka (who wrote The Dutchman under the name LeRoi Jones) and Lea DeLaria were in attendance as “The Strange; The Crazied; and the Queer” was revived for the Festival’s VIP crowd. Highlight: Ethel Elkovsky, a remarkable woman and a friend of Tennessee was the basis for a character in The Parade. She read poetry and spoke of her life -long friendship with Williams.

Gary shot a principle role in the feature "The Accidental Husband" -- directed by Griffin Dunne. Best Actor. Just found out: In May 2005, Gary was named Best Actor for his work in “Take Me Out” from The New Times-Broward-Palm Beach in FL. Thus, giving Gary another chance to celebrate the show and a great experience. They wrote, “Sometimes good guys finish first. Cowling was thoroughly delightful as a geeky gay accountant whose crush on his baseball star client turns into a passion for the game itself. Radiating charm and good humor, Cowling's fumbling characterization was the emotional heart of the Caldwell Theatre production and a model of impeccable comedic timing.”

Gary will guest star on an episode of “Knights of Prosperity” for ABC. The series debuts Wed., Jan. 3, 2007 at 9 p.m. Gary is in the 4th episode airing Jan. 24th. Written and produced by Rob Burnett and Jon Beckerman (the creative team for NBC’s “Ed”) this half-hour comedy was previously entitled “Let’s Rob Mick Jagger,” which is basically the plot for the season. In the 4th episode, “Operation: Deliver the Case,” Gary meets the Knights (lead by Donal Logue) and has something they want...the case. Website

Gary will play Mr. Hecht, an over-burdened caseworker in a home for pregnant teens with Chris Meloni and Connie Nielsen in the episode "Underbelly." It is the 7th episode of this new season and will air on November 14th at 10 p.m. on NBC.

30 Rock Pilot – Gary shot a role a new comedy pilot by Tina Fey (Saturday Night Live). It’s a behind-the-scenes story of a variety show that Tina Fey is the head writer. It also stars Alec Baldwin, Jane Krakowski and Tracey Morgan.

Gary will play the prosecuting attorney in the play version of "To Kill a Mockingbird" for Brave New World - an up-and-coming theatre company in Brooklyn recently profiled in the New York Times. Gary has
been cast in a recurring role on The Sopranos.
He will appear in several episodes as the headstrong Nurse Tuthill
when one of the main characters is hospitalized for a gunshot
wound. The Sopranos returns to HBO for it's "final"
season in March of 2006.

the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center - Manhattan directed by
David Landon. A workshop of the recently published The
Poetry of Tennessee Williams - The Strange, The Crazed, The
Queer (edited by David Roessel and Nicholas Moschovakis).
A company of 8 journeyed through 30 poems/scenes that were
only recently discovered. Gary played many "characters"
including Tennessee Williams. This project may continue with
another mounting in 2005.
